At one point, the brothers loved to tease one another via the press.

Prince Harry’s long-awaited memoir, Spare, made waves upon its release – and while there was plenty to dissect in its pages, the takeaway message was clear: Harry doesn’t hold back.

One such surprise from the memoir is that Harry and his brother, Prince William, supposedly fought physically in 2019. During the altercation, William allegedly pushed Harry to the floor and insulted Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, by calling her “rude” and “abrasive.”

In 2016, William issued an uncommon public statement defending Harry against the UK media.

In their younger years, in their 20s and 30s, the royal siblings were recognized for their playful interactions in front of the press. Harry frequently teased William about his balding, while William would retaliate with jabs at Harry’s height.

In November 2016, Harry’s communications secretary released a statement condemning the “abuse and harassment” aimed at his girlfriend.

Shortly after, William released his statement via Kensington Palace. The message stated, “The Duke of Cambridge completely understands the privacy situation and backs Prince Harry’s support for his closest ones.”

The brothers seemed to reject the press at that time, but this alliance did not last long.

In 2017, William revealed how his mother’s death affected him and how he and his brother mourned separately.

In the documentary, William recognized the strange feeling of mourning his mother’s loss at a crucial age while being in the spotlight.

He also realized how his mother’s death affected his view on how he and his brother should act as adults.

Later that year, William, his wife Kate Middleton, and Harry had a particular videotaped discussion about mental health. William said to his friend that he and his brother seldom talked about their mother’s death.

Harry and Markle got married in 2018. It was also the last time William and Harry showed affection for each other in public.

William mentioned his job as the best man at Harry’s wedding and joked about it to the media.

In 2019, there were rumors about Harry and Markle’s relationship with the royal family and the British press.

In 2020, they cut most of their ties with the royal family and relocated to California.

William has not made any additional public comments. He has remained silent despite Harry and Markle making more public and damaging accusations towards him, with some being about the royal family in general while others target him specifically.
