Anchor Nichelle Medina was reporting on an animal at the San Diego Zoo when one of the guests, 10-year-old Sophie, a scarlet ibis, came on air unannounced. In a surprising turn of events, Sophie flew into the live shot, almost hitting Medina in the eye. She then perched on Medina's head. Moments later, she took off again, this time in the direction of Medina's co-anchor, Eric Kahnert. Thankfully, the animal trainer regained control of the bird. With sharp nails, this could have been dangerous!
