Catastrophe Averted: Olumba Obu Exposes How Hunger Protests Could Have EscalatedHis Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, has disclosed that the recent nationwide hunger protests were on the verge of escalating into significant civil unrest.
In a broadcast to his followers, aired on a cable TV network, Obu advised Nigerians to remain patient and exercise restraint. He urged citizens to adhere to the law and respect authorities, stressing that violence and destruction would not bring about constructive change.
“The hunger protests could have led to severe civil unrest,” Obu warned. “However, divine intervention has prevented this. I call on Nigerians to live peacefully, respect the law, and honor all authorities, as outlined in Romans 13:1-2, which teaches that all authority is established by God.”
He encouraged Nigerians to pray for the nation and its leaders, seeking divine guidance for effective governance. Additionally, Obu advised leaders to empathize with their citizens’ struggles, acting with compassion and understanding while relying on God’s guidance in their duties.
