A few decades ago, tattoos marked you as a sailor, a rocker, or a rebel, and people with tattoos were viewed with suspicion, if not outright discrimination. Nowadays, however, attitudes have changed. Everyone from office workers to teachers to mothers sports a bit of ink. In many ways, it’s a positive change. Tattoos are no longer a deal breaker at work, but there are now more bad tattoos than ever before. By bad tattoos, we mean ones that should have been forgotten rather than left for good. Unfortunately, many of them are out there – take a look below to see what we mean.

Seeing from Behind

We think the idea for this tattoo came from the phrase “eyes on the back of my head.” This phrase can be taken in two ways: as a threat or joke. The guy below looks like a hardened biker so that it might be a threat.

But he’s added a tuft of hair for a mustache, so it seems more likely that it’s the latter. It’s great that he wanted to make people laugh.

The Tiger That Wasn’t Terrifying

Everyone who has ever watched a nature show knows that tigers are scary. They look like house cats but are much bigger and more dangerous. Although people understandably fear them, they also respect tigers for their power.

One way to show respect is to get a tiger tattoo. That’s what the guy above must have been thinking. But the result was not at all scary. It’s time to try again.

There’s a Spider on My Face

Most people don’t like it when spiders crawl all over their faces. The man below is clearly not like most people. He loves spiders and doesn’t mind them crawling all over his face, so he decided to get a permanent spider tattoo on his face.

A Black Widow face tattoo. This spider is famous for its deadly venom, which causes agonizing muscle pain and discomfort. Although not as bad as a spider bite, we imagine the tattoo hurts.

The Nightmare Portrait

Drawing a portrait takes a lot of time and effort because you have to do all the sketching, shading, and lines. If you need an example, have a look at the information below. This one was supposed to be a photo of his girlfriend, but it turned out to be a sketch of a nightmare.

We aren’t sure exactly what went wrong. Perhaps the arm was too small to include all the details, or perhaps the tattoo artist went too far with the design. Whatever the reason, the tattoo doesn’t look very nice.

Dressing Up

This man knew that to attract women, he had to look casual but smart. After a few tries, he finally found the perfect look.

When he got his first face tattoo, he knew something was missing. When he ran his fingers over his face, he realized it needed texture. So, he chose to have piercings to go with each tattoo.

Your Face Is with Me Forever

New parents are often so proud of their little ones that they want to get tattoos of their tiny infant faces—something to remember them by. It’s a lovely idea but doesn’t always turn out well. For the excited parent below, it turned out to be just plain creepy.

It’s better to keep memories in a photo album and pictures in your mind. Otherwise, you might end up with a tattoo you don’t like.

Freddie on the Arm Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, was famous and well-liked for his fantastic singing voice.

Fans worldwide watched him sing at Live Aid in 1985, and many more went to the cinema to watch that famous concert re-run in 2018.

To mark Freddie’s impact on his life, this diehard fan decided to get a big tattoo on his arm. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very inaccurate—look at how big Freddie’s face is!!

A Man with a Plan

Many of us look for someone open to personal development when we look for a partner. Take this person, for instance, who had spent almost $28,000 on his tattoos. He says he’s not finished yet.

With so many tattoos covering his whole body, we can’t imagine where he’ll get his next one. He’ll have to clear up space. Do you have any ideas?

A Guiding Light

This man finds job interviews difficult. He has noticed that people with tattoos are also discriminated against. He decided to do something about it and used social media to encourage people to stand up for the right to have tattoos.

Many people have reacted positively. They say they’ve felt confident about getting more tattoos since reading this guy’s posts. They are also getting accurate with employers who discriminate based on looks.

John Yuyi, a Taiwanese visual artist, relies on the internet to communicate her presence. Unlike the others on this list, she creates temporary tattoos in different styles that she puts on her face.

Her work would be similar to that of Andy Warhol if he were alive today. Thankfully, she can wash her face and remove the tattoos at the end of the day. The next person on this list isn’t so lucky.
