Nurse Karen Matthews hurried into the delivery room, her heart beating faster with excitement.

When the three babies were born, Karen looked at the young girl. She looked sad. Karen remained sad for the next few days.

Karen could understand. Being a teenage mum was hard.

She helped the young girl as much as she could by putting one baby down so that she could feed another.

Karen also noticed that nobody had come to see the triplets since they were born. It was very sad.

Every day, she would check on her and the triplets. Then, one day, the girl smiled at Karen immediately. Was this the chance she had been hoping for?

“Sharon, it’s good to see you smiling,” Karen said gently, sitting beside her. “Is there anything you want to talk about?”

Karen was halfway through her chore when she went into Sharon’s hallway. But at the end of the hall, she saw something that made her think. The young man stood outside Sharon’s room, looking in before nervously pacing back and forth. Who was he?

Karen knew that she couldn’t let the man get away with it. She ran after him, calling out, “Hey! Stop!” She yelled after him.

The man started running when he saw that the nurse was close behind him, but, unfortunately for Karen, he managed to escape.

“Listen,” Karen started.

“A man came here a little while ago. He was watching you from the door,” Sharon frowned at her words. “The man was wearing a hoodie, and when I went to confront him, he ran off. Do you know who he might be?” She wasn’t ready for the answer.

Sharon let out a big breath and nodded her head. “Yeah, I’ve seen him here before. He’s someone who is no longer in my life,” she revealed.

As Sharon spoke, Karen listened carefully, offering comfort and encouragement whenever she could. She learned about Sharon’s complicated relationship with her parents, the fact that her father was not around, and the tremendous responsibility she had on her young shoulders.

She decided to take Sharon in. It was the only thing she could think of at that moment. The girl needed someone to look after her and her babies, and Karen was happy to help.

Sharon was unsure at first because this was all happening so quickly. However, as Karen helped her feel at home, Sharon felt hopeful.

Sharon was amazed to see people she didn’t know coming together to help her when needed. For the first time since giving birth, she felt hopeful.

As time went on, Sharon started to open up to Karen, sharing her fears, hopes, and dreams. Their friendship got stronger every day. Sharon started to see Karen not just as a nurse but also as a friend and a mentor.

Sharon became a more confident mother every day.

They faced the challenges of being parents together, celebrated the small victories, and dealt with the setbacks. Sharon even decided to get a part-time job to support herself and her babies.

When she saw Kevin, she was so shocked that she couldn’t breathe. She hadn’t thought she would see him again, especially after everything that had happened.

He looked up at her, his expression becoming less severe. “Sharon, I’m sorry. I was scared and ran away, but I’m back now. Please give me a chance. I want to be there for you and the girls.”

She had already lived her life but still had to live the rest of her days. This time, Sharon was ready to take control of her story.
