The Russian and Chinese presidents, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, are very interested in how modern medicine can help them live much longer. This was discovered after a private conversation between them was accidentally made public.

According to Bloomberg, during the celebrations in Beijing, Xi, Putin, and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un walked through the gates of Tiananmen Square. This moment was shown live on Chinese television. Due to a technical issue, the microphone on the clothes of one of the dictators continued to function and record their conversation, which was intended for private use.

The audio recording of the conversation was less than a minute long and was interrupted at times, which is why only part of the conversation can be heard. Putin and Xi spoke; Kim only listened. But, because a different person translated each phrase, you can create a dialogue that might look something like this:

“Xi: In the past, people rarely lived to be 70, but today, at 70, you are still young.

Putin: Thanks to biotechnology, people will be able to have organs transplanted and live in younger and younger bodies, and even be able to live forever.

Xi: According to experts, people could live to be 150 years old in this century.

Shortly after this, Xi delivered a speech to commemorate China’s victory over Japan in World War II, and a military parade then commenced.

Bloomberg notes that this moment was distinct from the carefully planned celebrations taking place in a country that shares limited information with the outside world.

As UNIAN reported, a vast military parade took place in Beijing today to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Although it was primarily the Republic of China (now limited to Taiwan and a few small islands) and the United States that fought the war against Japan, the People’s Republic of China today considers itself one of the war’s victors. For this reason, the Chinese government celebrates September 3 as Victory Day.

This year’s celebrations in Beijing drew many dictators and autocrats who are dissatisfied with the modern world order based on established rules.

But the main event of the celebrations was the military parade, which observers saw as a clear display of strength. This occurred at the same time as Xi Jinping stated that he aimed to alter the global order.
