Every woman has habits and little actions that only she knows about. There’s nothing strange or shameful about this. However, some of them are usually hidden—due to embarrassment, social stereotypes, or perceptions of what’s “inappropriate.” Below is a list of things many women do but rarely talk about out loud.

They Fart

Yes, contrary to myths, women fart too. Perhaps less often than men, but it’s completely natural.

Gastroenterologist Purna Kashyap notes that the average person farts 10 to 20 times a day. This is a normal sign of healthy digestion.

Rarely Wash Bras

Bras require careful care—many need to be hand washed, while washing machines and dryers can damage their shape. Because of this, some women wear the same bra longer than they should, putting off washing it “until later.”

Peeing in the shower

Men aren’t the only ones guilty of this. However, doctors warn that this habit may not be the healthiest for women.

According to Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas, the female body’s anatomy isn’t designed for urinating while standing, which can prevent the pelvic floor from relaxing fully.

Hiding to snack

Many women eat secretly—in the bedroom or bathroom. The reasons vary: guilt, embarrassment, or simply a reluctance to share.

A survey found that about two-thirds of American mothers have at least once hidden snacks from their children or partner.

Sniffing their partner’s clothes

The scent of a loved one can evoke feelings of comfort and calm. This is why some women inhale the scent of their partner’s clothes from time to time.

Research confirms that the scent of a loved one actually reduces stress levels.

Picking their nose

In public – almost never. In private – yes, it happens.

Although this habit is common, doctors don’t recommend it: it increases the risk of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, entering the body.

Going to the bathroom more often during menstruation

During their periods, many women notice they spend more time in the bathroom. This is due to hormones.

Prostaglandins and progesterone affect not only the uterus but also the intestines, increasing their activity.

Plucking “extra” hairs

Tweezers are an indispensable item in a makeup bag. Women use them to remove unwanted hairs on the chin or face.

With age, such hair appears more frequently: studies show that with age, facial hair growth increases, while body hair decreases.
