In March 2020, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior royal family members.

This also marked the end of constant media attention for their son Archie, who will now be protected from the camera lens. Unlike Prince William and Princess Catherine’s children, we are not accustomed to seeing Archie in public.

In 2020, we saw the little royal only twice. The first time was his birthday in May when the Duke and Duchess shared a cute video from storytime. The second time was in the Sussexes’ Christmas card in December.

In 2021, we saw a few rare snaps, including home footage shared during Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan shows rare pictures of Archie and his sister Lilibet celebrating Archie’s first birthday.

Archie was born in the United Kingdom on May 6, 2019, and the documentary was released on December 8, 2022. On May 6, not only was Archie’s birthday celebrated, but his grandfather, King Charles, was officially appointed the new monarch during his coronation ceremony.

Although Prince Harry attended the coronation, Archie did not and instead stayed at his Montecito home with Meghan and his sister, Princess Lilibet.

The royal family did not acknowledge Archie’s birthday celebration on that day.

Archie has spent most of his life in the United States. In the ‘intimate’ documentary, he was cradled in his mother’s arms while holding an American flag.

A leaked image shared on Twitter in December 2022 proved that Archie is the spitting image of his father, sparking debates about who he resembles more.

To celebrate Christmas 2021, Harry and Meghan shared their family Christmas card. The card featured the first official picture of baby Lilibet, born in June of that year.

In the photo, Archie is dressed in jeans and a bright white shirt and looks like his red-headed dad. Little Lili stole the show in the snap.

In March 2021, royal watchers got another close-up look at Archie. Duchess Meghan’s long-time friend and director, Silver Tree, shared a series of personal images, including one with little Archie. The photos were accompanied by a stirring caption defending Meghan leading up to the Oprah interview.

Fans were in awe of how much he had grown.

He resembles a perfect blend of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, with Harry’s dark red hair and Meghan’s unmistakable eyes.
