Fieri's tragedies began at the age of 10 when he was seriously injured in a horse-riding incident that could have been fatal. While riding his horse near his home, it suddenly bucked him off and trampled him, causing injuries to his heart and liver ligament. Emergency surgery was required, but since his parents were backpacking in Europe at the time, a court order and a lawyer's proxy signature were necessary for the surgery to proceed. Guy Fieri still has a scar from an incident that occurred when he was 19 and a student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. On that day, he was hanging out with a group from a neighboring campground in Las Vegas. They were all together at a drag boat race and had been drinking. One person panicked when they saw a cop and was in a car chase. At the end of the pursuit, the car overturned, causing multiple injuries and the death of the passenger. Fieri was airlifted by helicopter and woke up handcuffed to a hospital bed. In 2006, Fieri hosted the TV show 'Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.' In 2011, five years later, the show was involved in a lawsuit. David Page sued Food Network, the show's producer when they attempted to replace him and prevented Fieri from recording any further episodes for him. Eventually, Food Network removed Page as the producer and continued with the show. Fieri has since remained the host of the iconic show, which is still in production today. 2011 was a challenging year for Fieri. His sister passed away, his Food Network show was involved in a lawsuit, and the former producer of his show made false accusations against him. Additionally, his $200,000 yellow Lamborghini Gallardo was stolen. The police accused Wade of attempting a drive-by shooting of a romantic interest and her boyfriend using a motorcycle and weapons. Fieri testified at the 2013 trial regarding the stolen vehicle. The thief was sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder. Fieri has 175 delivery-only and 80 full restaurant locations worldwide, with 17 distinct names for his personal-branded restaurants in the U.S. His latest restaurant, Downtown Flavortown, is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It offers food, drinks, games, and bowling. The restaurant faced a lawsuit in 2022, just a few months after opening. The employees filed a lawsuit against the Downtown Flavortown owners for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
