While Ivanka Trump has testified in Donald Trump’s civil fraud case, she is not a witness in her father’s trial involving adult film star Stormy Daniels. However, that didn’t stop Ivanka from speaking out on social media in response to Daniels’ testimony about her past relationship with Ivanka’s father. Testifying on May 7, Daniels made bold claims about Donald’s alleged bed habits, which she allegedly learned about during a 2006 affair, which he denies. The most surprising claim of all? Donald and his wife, Melania Trump, don’t share a bedroom. But that’s far from the most revealing statement from Daniels, who also claims she “blacked out” for an indefinite period during the affair (via the Wall Street Journal). 

Daniels’ testimony, unsurprisingly, has given social media users from all corners of the political sphere a fresh batch of information to analyze and parse. This could include Donald’s eldest daughter, Ivanka. The former Trump Organization executive posted a cryptic quote from Henry David Thoreau’s “Walden” on social media on her Instagram Stories on May 8. “‘The price of a thing is the amount of what I call life that must be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run,’ Ivanka wrote.” Ivanka’s post may be unrelated to Daniels’ testimony, but she may wonder what Daniels gets from exposing her father’s foul play.

Whether Ivanka Trump enlisted the help of Henry David Thoreau, one of America’s most respected essayists, to cast a literary shadow over Stormy Daniels is not now known for sure. Ivanka, however, will undoubtedly have more than one reason to worry about the negative attention to Daniels’ candid account of the time she allegedly spent with Donald Trump. Plus, Daniels appears to have indirectly mentioned her on the witness stand during the disturbing testimony. Daniels claims that Donald once told her, “You remind me of my daughter” in 2006 (via People).

Although Daniels did not name any names, she revealed that Donald referred to her daughter’s blonde hair and intelligence. While this could also apply to Tiffany Trump, Donald’s relationship with Ivanka has sometimes been deemed inappropriate thanks to the former president’s comments. Donald once admitted that he might have dated Ivanka if it weren’t for their familial relationship. “‘I don’t think Ivanka would go for it, even though she has a perfect figure,’ he said on The View, discussing whether he thought Ivanka would pose for Playboy” (via the Independent). ” At one time, I said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, I would probably be dating her,” he added.
