By 2019, there were rumors about Harry and Markle’s relationship with the royal family and the British press. 

William didn’t comment publicly about his brother this year.

In 2020, Harry and Markle cut most ties with the royal family and moved to California. William and Harry’s press secretaries released a joint statement that seemed to show them united when they weren’t.

William didn’t make any more public statements. He’s stayed quiet over the years despite Harry and Markle making public hostile allegations against him and the royal family.

William didn’t comment when Markle spoke to Oprah about the alleged abuse by the royal family. He hasn’t commented on the Netflix documentary or Harry’s memoir.

In 2020, William is said to have told a friend that their relationship was beyond repair.
