Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, the First Lady of Edo, has finally responded to Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of the state, who called her “childless.”

In an interview with journalists, senator Oshiomhole made a remark that caused considerable distress across the country.

During a virtual meeting with women from Edo who reside in other regions, Mrs. Obaseki asserted that every individual is destined for a specific purpose and was created by God for a reason.

In her remarks to the assembled group of over 200 women from diverse countries, Mrs. Obaseki stated, “I am bold enough to refer to you as fruitful.” It is only a matter of time before we become proud mothers of children who will come along when the time is right. Making the most of the life that God has bestowed upon you is imperative.

“My message to those who have experienced miscarriages, stillbirths, and the loss of babies in utero is that God created everyone for a reason.

“Consequently, you have not yet had the opportunity to experience the joy of having children despite the pain you have endured. The assumption that a woman is barren is erroneous.

“It is recommended that you divert your attention from your challenge. Before you know it, you will begin to experience the joy of having children.”

She considered her contributions to society to extend beyond the biological aspect of motherhood.

She highlighted that the concept of being fruitful extended beyond mere procreation. Furthermore, it was about making a difference and creating positive societal change.

“There is no merit in experiencing negative emotions regarding this matter.” “Women can accomplish God’s purpose in many ways that extend beyond the traditional role of motherhood,” she posited.

Obaseki also offered words of encouragement to women who have experienced miscarriages and stillbirths, emphasizing that these losses should not define them.
