The 1981 Alumni Association of Victory High School Ikeja, Lagos, has consoled Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom on the death of his wife, Pastor Patience Eno.
In a condolence message by it President, Pastor John Abiodun on Saturday in Abuja, the alumni described the late Eno as a cheerful woman, who impacted many lives positively.
Abiodun said that the association was deeply saddened about the death of Mrs. Eno which occurred on Friday morning.
He said that the association could not comprehend the depth of feelings of grief and sadness the unfortunate incident might have caused the governor — an alumnus of the school.
Abiodun advised the governor not to be sorrowful, but be comforted by the fact that what he lost “has become heaven’s gain.
“We should not be sorrowful as an unbeliever but take deep solace in the Lord who is able to bring peace and comfort to your heart at times like this.
“She was no doubt a woman of virtue, sound Christian character and courage”.
Abiodun recalled the rapport and the reception Mrs. Eno gave their delegation in spite her busy schedules during their visits to Uyo shortly before the election and during the inauguration ceremony.
“She had a cheerful heart and infectious smiles. She indeed has touched the lives of many people of Akwa Ibom and many Nigerians,” Abiodun said.
He advised the governor to take comfort in the loving memories he shared with his late wife, and allow them to serve as a source of joy and strength for him and the children.
