The Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Hyderabad are celebrated with great enthusiasm and exuberance. Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements are being made in the city as Ganesh Visarjan processions are being carried out.

The nine-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festivities are celebrated with zeal and fervor across India. In the wake of the celebratory events, the ritual of immersing Lord Vinayaka idols in bodies of water has commenced in various urban centers, notably Hyderabad. In the capital city of Telangana, ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ processions are being carried out amid heavy security. It is estimated that approximately 90,000 idols of Lord Vinayaka will be immersed in Hussain Sagar and numerous other lakes and waterbodies during the ‘Nimajjanam’ (immersion) process in the city.

Concurrently, a video circulating on social media shows a considerable number of devotees participating in a ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ procession in the Tank Bund area of the city. In the midst of profound elation among the devotees, law enforcement officials engage in rhythmic movement to musical compositions and participate in the celebration of the festivity.

Furthermore, the participants in the procession also expressed their support for the police officers. In response to the video, a user of the X platform wrote “Telangana Police anna” along with two fire emoticons. Another individual commented: “The experience was exceptional, and the second police officer exhibited an even more pronounced level of expertise and enthusiasm.”

Another individual responded by stating, “Protection and entertainment.” Conversely, an X user lauded the officer’s actions, expressing admiration for the officer’s dexterity with the baton.

It is reported that the ‘laddus’ were auctioned for a considerable sum of Rs 1.26 crore.

In a further noteworthy incident related to the festivity, the ‘laddu’ offered as ‘prasad’ at the renowned Ganesh pandal in Balapur, which was auctioned for Rs 27 lakh. The auction of ‘Balapur Ganesh laddu’ represents a significant attraction of the Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities in Hyderabad, though it should be noted that the ‘laddus’ offered to the Lord at almost every pandal are also auctioned.

It is widely accepted that securing the ‘laddu’ in the auction is believed to bring prosperity to the individual who makes the successful bid. As reported by various media outlets, the ‘laddu’ (a sweet delicacy) at a Ganesh pandal (temple) in a high-end residential community in Bandlaguda was auctioned for a substantial sum of Rs 1.26 crore, which all residents collectively procured.

Concurrently, the government has implemented sufficient measures to facilitate immersion, including deploying cranes within the city. Law enforcement authorities have implemented a comprehensive security protocol to reduce the smooth progression of the event. It is estimated that in excess of 30,000 security personnel will be on duty in the state capital and its periphery for the duration of the immersion, which is expected to continue until Friday.
