Greta Thunberg, the world-renowned activist, may have found not only new allies but also a supporter close to her heart. The media is actively discussing her close friendship with 22-year-old photographer Chris Kebbon, who has accompanied her to almost all protests for the past year and a half.
When Greta was deported from Israel and returned to Stockholm, it was Chris who first ran up to her at the airport to hug her tightly. He was wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh and then helped her through the crowd of journalists, acting as a personal guard.
The couple has appeared together on several occasions, taking part in protests off the coast of Sicily and at rallies in London and Stockholm. Their photo, taken by Chris, where Greta stands on the bow of a ship under the Palestinian flag, became a symbol of the failed attempt to deliver aid to Gaza by sea.
Chris studied at an elite French lyceum in Stockholm, and his resume indicates experience living in the Middle East. In addition to photography and videography, he actively participates in climate protests, calling for radical action against oil giants.
In February 2024, Greta and Chris appeared in court in London after demonstrating outside a hotel where an energy forum was taking place. They were later acquitted.
Chris’s social media posts demonstrate his determination and ideological closeness to Greta. Not only does he accompany her physically, but he also fully shares her views on climate justice.
Despite the lack of official statements, many believe that there may be more to Greta and Chris than just friendship – their behavior indicates a deep emotional connection.
