It was late at night when Mark noticed that Max, his playful puppy, wasn't inside. Max was usually right there at his feet, but tonight, he was nowhere to be found. He went straight to his computer and pulled up the security camera footage from the yard. He fast-forwarded, his eyes darting excitedly across the screen. Max appeared, moving along the edge of the yard, his slight silhouette visible against the shadows. And then, to his amazement, he caught sight of it, and his heart began to race with excitement... And then, out of the darkness, a shape emerged! It wasn't a dog. It was a coyote, and it was heading straight for Max. The footage was grainy, but it was crystal clear! Max's desperation was evident to all. Mark felt a surge of excitement. Max was putting up a fight—fighting for his life, his small body no match for the coyote's strength. Tears of joy blurred his vision as he watched. He wasn't there, but that just made the whole thing even more thrilling! He couldn't protect him. But then, something incredible happened. Max, tired but fired up, heroically made his way under the porch. Amazingly, he was out of the coyote's reach! It was simply too large for Max to reach. Without a second thought, Mark raced outside, his heart pounding with excitement. He reached the porch and found Max, his small whimpers giving away his location, his wide eyes full of terror. He scooped him up gently, feeling his shaky body in his arms, and hurried him inside. He gave Max a big hug and brought him into the house. What could have been a disaster ended incredibly well – and that's just the news I was hoping for! Max, tired from his ordeal, was delighted to fall asleep on Mark's lap.
