The marriage between Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko has taken a dramatic and public turn, following conflicting allegations of domestic violence, substance abuse, and destructive behavior. News Week Nigeria reports that the current crisis erupted after videos surfaced online showing Regina Daniels in distress, claiming she could no longer “stand the violence.” In response, Senator Nwoko released a statement alleging that his wife was battling drug and alcohol abuse—an accusation that has since polarized public opinion across Nigeria’s entertainment and political circles.

Senator Ned Nwoko’s Side: “Regina Needs Rehabilitation, Not Sympathy”

In his detailed statement titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage and Rampage in My House and in My Absence,” Senator Nwoko painted a troubling picture of chaos within his household. He described Regina’s alleged violent outbursts, destruction of property, and assault on domestic staff, all of which, according to him, stem from her dependency on drugs and alcohol.

He stated that Regina “was not always like this,” claiming her battle with substance abuse had become the root cause of their marital issues. According to the Delta-North lawmaker, Regina recently attacked three domestic staff members, destroyed windows and vehicles, and even threatened to harm their live-in nurse who reportedly exposed her alleged drug use.

Nwoko said he had proposed professional rehabilitation for her—either in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad, particularly in Jordan—where she would have limited access to drugs. He insisted that he was only trying to protect her life and the safety of their household.

“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence,” he wrote. “Regina is the violent one here. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety.”

The senator further claimed that during his absence, Regina’s brother, identified as Sammy, orchestrated a confrontation at his residence, allegedly involving another individual named Ann, whom he accused of supplying drugs to Regina.

In contrast, Regina Daniels’ version of events presents a completely different narrative. A viral video shared on social media showed the actress visibly distressed, surrounded by people as she declared:

The clip immediately ignited speculation that she had suffered domestic violence. Her brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Dahillman, popularly known as Sammy West, publicly supported her by accusing Senator Nwoko of physically assaulting his sister. He alleged that the senator “beat her again, smashed her head on the wall, and later sent thugs to intimidate her.”
