Golfers in the US state of Georgia witnessed a surprising sight when a massive alligator appeared right on the golf course.

The incident occurred on the evening of the 17th hole of The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah. One of the golfers, Ed Vance, spotted a large reptile, approximately 2.7 meters long, leisurely crossing the green. He immediately pulled out his phone and began filming the incident.

The footage later appeared on social media with the caption: “This just happened on the 17th hole.”

The footage shows the golfers discussing the unusual visitor in amazement. According to Vance, what struck him most was the sound of the animal’s footsteps.

“The camera doesn’t capture it completely, but a dull, heavy thud accompanied each step. It felt like a real dinosaur was walking next to me,” he told local reporters. While the golfers watched, the alligator calmly moved toward the pond. At one point, it settled near the flagpole, and one of the golfers remembered he’d left his club near the water. The man quickly retrieved it and hurried to a safe distance.

Witnesses couldn’t hide their emotions, calling the reptile a true monster and admiring its size.

A few seconds later, the alligator rose and continued toward the pond, then disappeared into the water.

According to Vance, the animal was completely oblivious to the people around it.

“It seemed like it had no interest in us at all. It just wanted to get back to its pond,” the golfer remarked.
