In the viral video that resonated on social media, you can see Britney Spears walk up behind the young NBA star — and from there, according to a witness, she tried to punch him in the shoulder, leading to a physical confrontation with the NBA star’s security guard.
Reliable law enforcement sources reported that police officers who arrived on the ARIA call reviewed surveillance footage showing Smith pushing away Britney’s arm and her hand hitting her in the face.
After the incident, Britney Spears filed a police report.
Sources say that the case is not being treated as a criminal case, as police have determined that Smith was not trying to hurt Britney but rather was protecting Victor Wembanyama.
The incident occurred at the Catch restaurant at the ARIA Hotel around 8:30 p.m. Britney was visiting the restaurant with her husband, Sam Asgari, and two other people to eat dinner. As soon as she entered the casino, fans immediately surrounded her.
Britney and company approached Catch, and as they entered the restaurant, Britney spotted Victor. We’re told she’s a big fan of his and approached him to ask if they could take a picture together. She touched his back, his right shoulder, and, we’re told, the director of security for the San Antonio Spurs — the team that drafted Victor last month — instantly hit her from behind, causing her to fall to the floor — knocking her glasses off.
Britney pulled herself together and went to her table. Reportedly, the security guy further approached the table and apologized. He said: “You know how it is when you get attacked by fans.” He apologized, and Britney accepted his apology. BTW, we’re told he also said that he didn’t know who she was when he slapped her.
Britney’s security team spent time with Victor’s security guard, after which her team filed a report with the Metropolitan Police for battery.
