Not many predators inspire such fear and loathing as snakes. But their unique and unusual abilities often make them exciting creatures. Recently, a video showing the reptile’s hilarious antics appeared on social media. 

Published on Twitter by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, the short video shows the snake grabbing a rubber slipper and crawling away, holding its head high. “I wonder what this snake will do with this chappal. After all, it has no legs.” Unknown location,” Mr. Kaswan captioned the post. 

The video shows how, after a group of people spotted the snake approaching their house in the behind-the-scenes footage, one threw his pink rubber slipper at it. The reptile instantly grabbed the shoe in its jaws and hurriedly left the house with its head up. 

The video footage instantly went viral on the Internet. Mr. Kaswan posted the clip on Thursday night, and it has since garnered more than 229,000 views and more than 7,200 likes. 

In the comments, some users speculated about the snake’s actions, while others gave hilarious reactions. 

” I think it’s the taste or smell of rubber slippers; I’ve seen it a few times. It probably senses it’s prey!” – one user wrote. “[The Serpentine Edition] Cinderella – The Serpentine Edition,” wrote another. 

Another user wrote: “Amazing… Maybe the snake thinks it’s prey.” One user explained, “It looks like it’s building something of its own, maybe a fort, and looks very pleased with itself, dancing like this with its head in the air, practically floundering, which is very hard to do without legs.”  

The location where this footage was taken has yet to be revealed.
