Suri, daughter of “Top Gun: Maverick” star Tom Cruise and “Dawson’s Creek” actress Katie Holmes, has been a household name since her birth in 2006. Her mom is intentionally keeping Suri’s personal life a secret, but that’s not the case at the moment, 

Suri Cruise’s birth was “powerful” and “spiritual.”

Suri Cruise’s birth story began on April 18, 2006, in Santa Monica, California, to Hollywood superstars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, then known as “TomKat.”  In October 2005, the couple quickly got engaged and announced they were expecting a baby, according to People. Cruise was so excited that he bought a sonogram machine to see baby Suri in the womb.

As Cruise told Vanity Fair, Suri’s name was taken from a baby name book and means “red rose.” According to CBS News, Suri was born 7 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. 

Suri was the honored guest at Cruz and Holmes’s November 18, 2006, wedding. The young parents wed in a star-studded ceremony at Italy’s 15th-century Odescalchi Castle near Rome (according to Us Weekly). The lavish celebration reportedly cost more than $3 million, Andrea Bocelli serenaded the dinner, and Holmes wore not one but two Armani wedding dresses. 

Before Suri Cruise learned to walk, she was a trendsetter

Throughout their six-year marriage, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes became constant tabloid icons, just like Suri Cruise.

Not yet able to walk, Suri quickly became a style icon. At age five, Suri already had a closet worth about $3.2 million, including $150,000 worth of shoes alone. Her collection included such fashion brands as Dolce and Gabbana and Ferragamo. 

Tom and Katie broke up in the summer of 2012. CBS News said Cruise said he “didn’t expect” Holmes to file for divorce. He got the news while filming his movie “Oblivion,” People reports. The process went quickly, and the couple reached an amicable settlement after 11 days (according to InStyle). During the divorce, Holmes was granted primary custody of Suri, while Cruise was granted visitation rights. Although Holmes did not receive spousal support as part of her settlement agreement with Cruise, Suri will receive $400,000 a year in child support until her 18th birthday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cruz must also pay Suri’s medical, dental, insurance, education, college, and other extracurricular expenses.

According to Yahoo, Tom and Suri Cruise have not appeared in public together since visiting Disneyland in 2012. 

Additionally, InTouch reported in June 2014 that Cruise had not seen or spoken to his daughter for 1,000 days. 

After receiving primary custody, Katie Holmes moved Suri Cruise from California to New York. According to the NY Daily News, Holmes enrolled Suri, who was six years old, in first grade at Avenues, a private school in Chelsea with a $40,000 tuition. 

When Suri Cruise turned 13 in April 2019, ET Online immediately called her “one of Hollywood’s most iconic teenagers.” 

In April 2022, Suri Cruise celebrated her sweet sixteenth birthday. The girl still keeps a low profile, but now and then, proud mom Katie Holmes posts Instagram posts with love and congratulations. 

Also, in June 2022, Katie Holmes introduced Suri to her new boyfriend, Bobby Wooten III (via Stylecaster). According to Elle, a musician and composer, Wooten debuted as a couple with Holmes in May at The Moth’s 25th anniversary gala, The Silver Ball, held at Spring Stud.

Her voice has been featured in two of her mom’s movies.

Suri reportedly wants to go to fashion school.

Considering Suri Cruise’s outfits have caught the attention of fashion blogs and enthusiasts, it’s no surprise that the style icon is reportedly planning to attend fashion school in New York City when she graduates high school.
