Sahar Tabar, a young woman from Tehran who became famous for posting photos of herself looking like a ‘zombie Angelina Jolie,’ has revealed her actual appearance on Iranian TV after being released from jail.

Many people believed that her appearance was the result of botched plastic surgery, but she finally showed her authentic self to the cameras this week.

Fatemah Khishvand, also known as Sahar Tabar, was imprisoned for ten years for obscenity and insulting the hijab in Iran.

She had been under arrest since October 2019 on corruption and blasphemy charges.

However, after serving 14 months, Ms. Tabar was released from jail, as reported by activist Masih Alinejad.

 Ms. Alinejad wrote online: ‘Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail.’

Tabar wanted to be famous since childhood and used makeup and Photoshop to grow her Instagram following.

She said, ‘Cyberspace was an easy way.’ She said becoming an actor was much more complicated than what she did.

She underwent cosmetic procedures, including a nose job, lip fillers, and liposuction. However, she stressed that the infamous images were due to makeup and editing.

Ms. Tabar admitted to the hoax in 2017, telling Russian news outlet Sputnik that she altered the pictures for amusement.

In an attempt to look like the Hollywood actress, she previously claimed to have undergone more than 50 surgeries.

She said, “I have something in common with Angelina Jolie, but my goal is not to look like her. I amuse myself.”
