Not much is known about Kate Middleton’s current circle of friends, especially compared to the media attention given to Meghan Markle’s inner circle. 

Many people are curious about Kate’s relationship with Rose Hanbury if there is one at all.

Are they friends?

There has been much gossip about Rose Hanbury due to reports and speculation about her possible affair with Prince William. 

Kate and Rose were part of a social scene called the Turnip Toffs in their rural town of Norfolk. It is still being determined if they wore pink on Wednesdays. 

The Duchess of Cambridge may have denied knowing Rose after reports surfaced that Rose had made advances towards Prince William while Kate was pregnant. Beverly Hills psychiatrist and M.D. shared this information. Carole Lieberman in an interview with Nicki Swift in 2020. According to her, there is usually less sexual activity during pregnancy due to fear of harming the baby and because the husband may view his pregnant wife as a mother. Therefore, it is unlikely that the future king would have left Kate for Rose.

Whether William saw Kate as a mother or not, her relationship with Rose took an interesting turn after the affair rumors.

Despite the affair rumors between Prince William and Rose Hanbury that surfaced in 2019, Rose was still invited to Kate Middleton’s birthday party at her Anmer Hall home in January 2020, according to Hello! Additionally, Rose attended a royal banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth II during former President Donald Trump’s visit to London in June 2019, as reported by The Cut. 

According to Carole Lieberman, the rumors appeared to have affected Hanbury and her husband. Before the alleged affair, Kate and Rose seemed close and resembled each other in their features and dress. However, in more recent photos from the church service, Rose and her husband appear to be worse for wear. They have aged at least ten years, possibly due to the rumors that caused their quarrel. Rose looks sad and angry.

Although Kate seems to have moved on from the rumors about her marriage and supposed rural rival, the internet has not. A photo of Prince William walking behind Rose’s husband, David Cholmondeley, had some people talking about his rumored affair all over again.
