During a rare public outing in Downtown Manhattan on Monday, Kathleen Turner appeared unrecognizable and was seen struggling to walk with a cane.

Despite her declining mobility, the 69-year-old Romancing the Stone star appeared in good spirits as she went about her day.

Her last official public appearance was five months ago, in Manhattan, at a screening of Bradley Cooper’s Maestro.

She wore a long, dark overcoat, black pants, and black sneakers this time. She looked slightly worse for wear as she traversed Canal Street in Chinatown.

Mary Kathleen Turner, a major movie star in the 1980s and 1990s, appeared alongside actors such as Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito.

In 2021, the star of Undercover Blues revealed that she once had a crush on her former co-star. They both appeared in Romancing the Stone and The Jewel of the Nile.

He is currently married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, and they have two children.

The star described him as old-fashioned and praised Catherine for doing a great job with him.

Known for her work with Douglas and other films in the ’90s and 2000s, Turner is now a single woman living in New York.

She divorced her longtime husband, Jay Weiss, a local real estate tycoon, in 2007, 20 years after the pair gave birth to their only daughter, 36-year-old singer Rachel Ann Weiss.

Turner is a proud supporter of charities that help the disenfranchised and has attended Citymeals On Wheels’ Annual Power Lunch for several years, including this past November.

For her stroll through Chinatown, she used a cane for the first time. As she walked on the sidewalk, it seemed like she was still getting used to it.

Although she appeared to struggle at points, she stayed upright, much to the relief of her countless adoring fans.

Kathleen recently revealed that she is still a fan of her ex, 79-year-old Douglas. However, she expressed her dislike for 70s hunk Burt Reynolds, citing the ‘shocking’ sexism she allegedly experienced on the set of 1988’s Switching Channels.

In 2019, she mentioned that she is ‘aging rather well’ and has no intention of getting Botox or plastic surgery. She says she doesn’t want to ‘be a Cher, where her face never changes or moves.’

Turner is known for her distinctive husky voice and was nominated for an Oscar for her leading role in Peggy Sue Got Married. She has starred in several films since the 2000s and made guest appearances on shows such as Friends and Law and Order.

Additionally, she has lent her voice to shows like The Simpsons and Rick and Morty. However, she will always be remembered for her string of hits in the 80s and 90s.
