The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement declaring that no individual is above the party in the wake of the recent threat made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to its governors.

PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba made the declaration during a press conference in Abuja on Monday.

It should be recalled that Wike recently threatened PDP governors, warning them against interfering in Rivers State party matters and vowing to “put fire in their states.”

Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, had asserted that he exercises control over the PDP structure in the state and that no other individual can assume control of it.

Reiterating the party’s stance, Ologunagba stated, “It can be asserted that no individual is above this party. It is the People’s Democratic Party.” This reiteration reinforces the party’s position and message.

Moreover, Ologunagba detailed the party’s proactive approach to internal issues. He announced the formation of reconciliation and disciplinary committees, demonstrating the PDP’s commitment to resolving conflicts. The party will await the issuance of their report, showing a clear action plan.
