Individuals who have recovered from a coronavirus infection have begun to report the onset of a potentially life-threatening illness.

The widely read Swedish weekly publication Svenska Dagbladet disseminates pertinent information.

One of the newspaper’s articles states that a significant number of citizens who had recovered from the novel coronavirus disease, SARS-CoV-2, were subsequently diagnosed with a condition designated as “post-covid.”

Concurrently, 90% of such patients were subsequently diagnosed with asthma.

To date, post-covid syndrome has been diagnosed in 30,000 individuals in Sweden since the onset of the pandemic.

As the article’s author notes, this finding corroborates the results of a study conducted by researchers in South Korea, which proposed that viral respiratory infections may precipitate the onset of asthma.
