At one of the busy train stations, a small puppy was noticed sitting right on the rails and persistently wagging its tail. People were worried – the dog did not leave, but seemed to be guarding someone or something. Passengers called the police because the animal could have been hit by a train.

When the officers arrived, they were amazed – the puppy refused to leave the rails. They removed it from the tracks, but it tried to get back there again. Everyone had a question: why?

The station attendant decided to stop the trains and find out the reason for this behavior. Two drivers were warned not to enter the platform until the police finished their investigation.

It turned out that another puppy had fallen into the gap between the sleepers and stones. It was exhausted, soaked in the morning rain, and quietly whined from pain and hunger. The rescue took several minutes, and soon the puppy was retrieved, placed in a net, and then in a carrier.

The animal stubbornly resisted, scratching at the cage and trying to escape. Everyone saw this not just as fear, but as a desperate plea for freedom.

The police offered to take the puppy to a shelter, but one of the women at the station, Lily, decided to keep him. At home, she fed the foundling, and he quickly became accustomed to her. However, Lily understood: the dog had a reason for returning to the tracks.

That evening, she returned to the station. As soon as she opened the cage, the puppy rushed to the tracks and began sniffing something. Soon, he started barking and sat down near one spot. Lily approached and saw a small kitten, which the puppy had been trying to protect the whole time.

The kitten was weak, hungry, and had a broken leg. With trembling hands, Lily carried him to the veterinarian. There, they confirmed that the baby urgently needed help. After several days of deliberation, Lily decided to keep both the puppy and the kitten. And so they became a family. Fate brought them together, and now the three of them live happily ever after.
