Television should please and distract us from everyday life. But this time, it was the viewers who wanted to escape from the Emmy Awards red carpet. The stars gathered to celebrate the achievements of the TV industry, but their outfits were more of a disappointment.

If at the 2025 VMAs, celebrities tried to shock with the strangest looks, then at the Emmys, fashion blunders looked more subtle – but no less unsuccessful.

Isa Briones and “Grinch chic”

The actress chose a bright shade of lime. The color suited her, in principle, but the cut of the dress – with a corset, complex layers, and wide hips – made the image caricatured. As a result, the dress was associated more with cartoon characters like the Grinch or Shrek than with glamor.

Kathy Bates as a “chocolate drop”

Brown was on trend on the carpet, but Bates clearly overdid it. Thanks to the strange neckline, her outfit resembled a foil from which a Hershey’s Kiss had just been pulled out. A good silhouette could have saved the situation, but not this time.

Gwendoline Christie and dark elegance

The actress’s white suit had every chance of being exquisite. But in combination with pale makeup, scarlet lipstick, and a strict haircut, the image seemed more like a ghost than a stylish exit.

Chris Perfetti and “growth-size wallpaper”

The desire to stand out with an unusual print is understandable, but the choice of fabric let him down. His suit looked more like an unsuccessful wallpaper pattern, and in the company of a narrow bow tie and dark glasses, it seemed utterly ridiculous.

Jenna Ortega and “a treasure chest instead of a top”

The actress risked going out almost naked: a long skirt with a low waist and a top made of metal details. For a club party – impressive, for the Emmys – too much. Bold makeup and tousled hair only increased the dissonance.

Lainey Wilson is back in her element.

The country star chose the same old thing: flares, glitter, a train, and a cowboy hat. While this might be appropriate for a music awards show, it’s a no-no for the Emmys.

Sarah Paulson and the “owl’s nest”

Feathers, a rounded skirt, and a brown palette made the actress’s dress look more like an owl costume. Against the backdrop of her sleekly combed hair, Paulson seemed lost inside her own outfit.

Nikki Boyer has a silver bell.

A voluminous skirt of an odd length and a shiny shade evoked associations not with fashion, but with New Year’s decorations. Closer to a “surprise in a gift bag” than a premium look.

Timothy Simons and an “unfinished tuxedo”

The actor decided to replace his trousers with shorts. But it turned out as if his suit was not finished. The idea could have been fresh, but the effect was rather comical.

Shannon Murphy and the “pastel disaster”

The pink dress with shiny details already looked dubious in itself. But the actress made everything worse with a giant, multi-colored tulle scarf. The result was an image reminiscent of a ball of cotton candy.
