When Marta turned 78, she decided to change her life radically. Selling her familiar suburban home, she poured all her energy and resources into an unusual project, one that many considered a crazy idea.

This is how her amazing “Cave House” was born. The main requirement was simple: preserve the cave’s natural beauty, not convert it into a conventional dwelling.

The first room inside the house is particularly impressive. The stone walls gently curve around the entrance, and recessed lighting softly shimmers among the rocky surfaces.

Instead of a traditional hallway, there’s a winding passageway that curves slightly to the side.

Despite the builders’ suggestions to make the surface completely smooth, Marta insisted on preserving the natural topography.

A large, soft, light-colored sofa, surrounded by cushions, occupies the center of the living room. A thick rug covers the floor, and a wooden table is almost always adorned with a teapot, a crossword puzzle, and a plate of homemade cookies.

Soft lighting reflects off the stone walls, casting them in golden hues. During the colder months, a small stove built into a natural stone niche adds to the cozy atmosphere.

The room’s main feature is a large round window, overlooking the valley, where you can observe the rain, fog, and life in the small village.

The kitchen has become one of the most unusual rooms in the house. Its layout perfectly follows the natural curves of the stone walls, so there are few, if any, straight lines.

A special spot is occupied by a section of natural rock, which Marta decided to leave untouched.

Despite its unusual setting, the kitchen remains fully functional.

The bedroom is located in the deepest part of the house.

The bed is in a natural niche, as if the cave itself had created a special place for it.

The bedroom’s interior is extremely simple: a wardrobe, an armchair, a basket for blankets, and a small shelf with favorite books.

A narrow window near the ceiling adds a special charm to the room.

The entrance to the bathroom is hidden behind a heavy wooden door, reminiscent of an old country house.

Inside, the space is surprisingly bright. Natural stone is combined with wood, mirrors, and soft lighting.

The shower area blends seamlessly with the cave’s curves. The sink is mounted on a massive wooden countertop.

A deep bathtub near a small arched window occupies a special place. In the summer, the owner opens it and relaxes to the sounds of nature.

A small reading nook is located in one of the side alcoves. It has room for just a comfortable armchair, a lamp, a bookcase, and a soft blanket.

The most unexpected place is outside the cave. A side exit leads to a hidden terrace, invisible from the road.

From here, a magnificent view of the fields, the village, and the surrounding hills opens.

The terrace features two armchairs and a small table. Lavender, thyme, and other low-maintenance flowers thrive among the stones.

For Marta, this isn’t just an unusual home. It’s a dream come true, proof that you can start a new chapter in your life at any age.
