Joe and Jill Biden have avoided scandals during his time in office. There was some controversy. Jill’s clothes often caused controversy.
We’re looking at some more of Jill’s inappropriate outfits.
Jill Biden’s floral frock shocked people. The $2,700 Dolce & Gabbana dress was inappropriate for the occasion.
Jill’s Dolce & Gabbana choice was controversial, too. The label’s founders, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have a problematic history. They have dressed models in “Blackamoor” earrings, posed for blackface photos at an “African disco” Halloween party, designed a “slave sandal,” and starred an Asian model attempting to eat pizza with chopsticks. Gabbana allegedly sent them a rude message.
In September 2022, Jill Biden wore a skintight latex look. She was attending an Elton John gig at the White House, so many thought her outfit was fitting. Others disagreed, calling it inappropriate.
Jill probably didn’t like the comments about her Elton John outfit. The dress was so tight that you could see Jill Biden’s belly button. The Gateway Pundit called it “gross.”
Jill Biden made a fascinator mistake in September 2022 at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at Westminster Abbey. The first lady wore a hat to a memorial, which is unusual. Hats are usually worn to weddings and special events.
In February 2022, Jill Biden wore a Dalmatian-spotted dress and jacket. The First Lady also wore a Brandon Maxwell two-piece for a Black History Month event at the White House. Her stylish suit made her stand out, but some found the patterned outfit inappropriate.
Jill’s look was recycled. She wore the same dress to the 2021 Olympics and to meet Boris Johnson in June 2021. The next day, Jill wore another recycled Brandon Maxwell outfit: a red dress she had made for a Memorial Day service in Virginia.
Jill Biden’s see-through dress
In April 2024, Jill Biden showed too much. The First Lady wore an Oscar de la Renta gown to host a dinner for Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. Her underwear made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Jill learned that certain materials don’t stand up to bright lights. The dress became sheer as photographers took pictures, showing the first lady’s flesh.
Jill Biden was seen with her hair in a scrunchie while shopping in February 2021. Jill was getting treats from the Black-owned bakery, The Sweet Lobby. I went to @TheSweetLobby to get some Valentine’s treats. “Shhh — don’t tell Joe!” she captioned a photo on X.
The internet was divided. “I didn’t know I needed a FLOTUS in a scrunchie,” one commenter wrote. “She’s a real person!” “Not a Barbie doll!” another said. Some thought it was inappropriate. “This isn’t appropriate for her role,” one person commented. “Disgusting,” another wrote.
The ’80s and ’90s staple has made a comeback, but that had nothing to do with her choice to rock one. Jill didn’t know what a scrunchie was. “My daughter called me after I left the shop. She said everyone was talking about this scrunchie. I said, “What scrunchie?” I didn’t know what she meant. “I still don’t get it,” she told Kelly Clarkson.
