Angelina Jolie has accomplished many milestones as an actress.

Her life has not been easy, as she grew up in a broken home, was bullied, experienced heartbreak, and lost loved ones to cancer.

Biography reports that Angelina Jolie was born in June 1975 in Los Angeles, California, to actors John Voight and Marcheline Bertrand.

Despite their marriage breakup, Voight remained in touch with his ex-wife and children.

According to the book ‘Angelina Jolie: The Biography,’ the actress faced difficulties in school due to her thinness, braces, and glasses. As a teenager, Jolie realized that being different was not accepted and was often ridiculed by her peers.

However, her fortunes changed when she began receiving modeling offers at 16.

Angelina Jolie found it difficult when her parents divorced. She knew her mother was suffering and dealing with many things alone.

Her mother suggested acting or modeling, and Jolie agreed to support her. In 2010, a drug dealer claimed to have supplied drugs to Jolie and said she was ‘high on cocaine’ while promoting her 2000 film ‘Girl Interrupted,’ according to Page Six. Meyer insisted that whenever the actress met him in New York, she would spend around $100 on drugs.

In 2007, Angelina Jolie was heartbroken when her mother, Marcheline Bertrand (pictured right), died from ovarian cancer after a 10-year battle.

Before her death, Bertrand expressed gratitude for her life and stated that she only regretted not getting to know her grandchildren.

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton fell in love while filming the 1999 movie ‘Pushing Tin’ and married in 2000. However, they ended their relationship a few years later due to having different lifestyles.

Despite this, they were still married when Jolie adopted her son, Maddox. They separated a few months after Maddox’s adoption.

In 2008, Angelina Jolie reportedly experienced postpartum depression after giving birth to her twins, Vivienne and Knox. The actress frequently stayed up while caring for the twins and was deeply concerned about their health.

According to US Magazine, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt developed feelings for each other while filming ‘Mr & Mrs. Smith’ in 2005. They got married in 2014 and were parents to six children.

However, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 and became involved in a legal battle with Pitt.

In her 20s, Jolie was often misunderstood by the media. In a candid interview with Elle, the actress revealed that she was often portrayed as rebellious, but she disagreed with that characterization. She explained that her actions were not driven by a need to be destructive or revolutionary but rather by a desire to find her voice and break free from the constraints around her. She acknowledged that this process can be complex and may lead to misunderstandings but emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself.
