Peter Kay is back! He’s the first artist to get a residency at London’s O2 arena.
Peter keeps his home life private. He canceled his 2017 tour because of “unforeseen family circumstances.”
Peter met Susan at a nightclub in Bolton in 1998. They married three years later. Peter has only made a few comments about his relationship. He said that his early dates with Susan were challenging, and he described one as a “disaster.”
In his 2006 book That Peter Kay Book, Johnny Dee wrote, “I took a girlfriend ice skating on our second date, and I fell and broke my arm.” The Unauthorized Biography doesn’t name Susan, but it says it was about Peter’s childhood sweetheart.
“The girl took pity on my incompetence and eventually married me,” it added.
Peter and Susan got married in 2001 but haven’t shared details. Peter’s childhood friend Paddy McGuinness probably was there. Peter was in a starring role at Paddy and his ex-CHRISTINE’s wedding.
In her book, Christine explained. Peter Kay was Paddy’s best man. He had to be the best man because they’ve known each other since childhood.
Peter’s speech went on forever. It was like a stand-up show. The one thing he said that always stuck with me was, “Laughter is everything.” “You two have that.” Humor may be just as crucial in Peter and Susan’s marriage.
The couple has three children. They welcomed their eldest, Charlie, in 2001. They named him after Susan’s late father. They are also considered parents to two more children, but Peter has kept them out of the spotlight.
In 2003, Peter told The Mirror that he was working less to spend more time with his family. “Family is the best,” he said. “I’ve got to have time to be a father and a husband.”
He commented on his home life: “I like being on Paul O’Grady in the afternoon and watching TV with Susan in the evening. Money gives you security.
Peter took a 12-year break from touring between 2010 and 2022. During that time, he only appeared on TV and went on tours a few times.
He was supposed to tour from 2018 to 2019 after staying home in Ireland, but his return was stopped by “unforeseen family circumstances.”
In December 2017, Peter released a statement on X (formerly Twitter): “Due to family circumstances, I’m canceling all my upcoming work.”
In 2022, Peter announced he was hosting his first live stand-up tour in 12 years during an ad break on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
