President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

As Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, told us, this appointment shows that the government is committed to ensuring that Nigerians have a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply.

With over 20 years of experience in business, politics, and the energy sector, Amachree is expected to use his expertise to effectively tackle the nation’s energy challenges.

He has a degree in management and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School. He’s got an excellent track record of leadership in both the public and private sectors, especially in the Niger Delta.

The new Energy Security Directorate at ONSA will focus on policy coordination, infrastructure protection, data management, security coordination, risk advisory, and forming strategic alliances in the energy sector.

“As the new Director of Energy Security, Amachree will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, international partners, and community leaders, to come up with creative solutions for Nigeria’s current and future energy challenges,” the statement concluded.
