Sean “Diddy” Combs is in trouble. With more and more sex crimes allegations against the rapper, it’s likely his career is over. Former “Celebrity Apprentice” star and singer Aubrey O’Day says she was one of Combs’ victims during her time in the girl band Danity Kane.
O’Day and Combs argued while she was on “Making the Band” in 2005, and she left the group. In 2022, O’Day said on the “Call Me Daddy” podcast that Combs fired her from the band. “I wasn’t willing to do what was expected, ” she said, not because of my talent but in other ways. “He fired me,” she said.
In 2024, when many accusations against Combs came out, O’Day told the “Crysis Queen” podcast that he was often drunk at work. She said she never knew which version of Combs she would deal with. She also said Combs was controlling. “I was sent out of a studio session because my toes weren’t polished,” she admitted. She said Combs made her feel good about herself but broke her down, trying to get her to act on his whims. “Grooming is a process. They don’t just abuse you on day one. “They make you feel like they’re giving you little bits of things that excite you. Then they let you know about yourself in different ways,” she explained.
Many celebrities were questioned about what they said about Sean “Diddy” Combs before the allegations against him became public. Aubrey O’Day isn’t one of them. Some say she’s been outspoken about Combs’ abuse for years.
O’Day told People that the allegations against Combs didn’t relieve her trauma from working with him.
People wanted to hear from O’Day after Combs was arrested. One X user urged the singer to “speak.” O’Day replied, “I spoke to people who could help me.” I’ve been speaking. “I never underestimated that.”
Before the allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs became public, he tried to get Aubrey O’Day to stay quiet about her experiences working with him. On the “No Jumper” podcast, O’Day said that six months before Cassie Ventura came forward with abuse claims, Combs offered former Danity Kane members a publishing deal. It was a way to get them to sign away their right to speak out against him.
“The deal said I’d be financially compensated.” It asked me not to share my story. “It asked me to stay silent and never speak poorly of someone,” O’Day told TMZ for its “The Downfall of Diddy” documentary. “I realized something bad was coming.”
O’Day supported Ventura when she sued Combs. She told Entertainment Tonight, “I know what she’s feeling.” She also posted about the lawsuit on Instagram, writing, “I’ve been trying to tell you for years.”
