You know Sally Nugent from morning TV. But what else is there to know about her?

In October 2021, the veteran broadcaster replaced Louise Minchin as the permanent presenter of the popular morning news program.

At the time, she said: “I’m thrilled to be the new BBC Breakfast presenter. I’ll bring the nation the latest news, entertainment guests, and stories that matter every week.”

Sally has been with the BBC for over two decades. She was a sports reporter before becoming a morning news presenter.

When she’s not on camera, Sally lives in Cheshire with her husband, son, and dog, Sadie.

She’s an award-winning journalist. During the pandemic, she interviewed footballer Marcus Rashford MBE about his campaign to end child food poverty and extend free school meals to children in England over the holidays.

The show had millions of viewers and won Scoop of the Year at the Royal Television Society Television Journalism Awards 2021.

She supports many charities. Sally helped make a documentary about Rob Burrow’s experience with motor neuron disease.  

The show won an award for Best Documentary.

Sally is a talented pianist.

When the pandemic hit in March 2020, Sally started playing the piano again.
