“He got lots of young people involved. “He knows his generation because nowadays young people don’t watch TV,” the incoming first lady said on Friday morning.
“They’re all on tablets, phones, and podcasts,” she added.
The proud mom revealed how her 18-year-old son advised his father. She said it was incredible how he brought in success because he knew who to contact.
Trump did several podcasts, including an interview with Joe Rogan just days before the election.
The president’s interview with Rogan has had over 52 million views on YouTube.
Trump’s appearances on other alternative outlets, at Barron’s request, including “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” “Flagrant” with Andrew Schulz, the “PBD Podcast” with Patrick Bet-David, and “Impulsive” with Logan Paul, got nearly 30 million more views.
“Every recommendation has been a hit,” said senior Trump adviser Jason Miller.
“Podcasts and YouTube shows are a new way to reach voters,” Miller told Politico’s “Playbook Deep Dive” podcast.
Harris dismissed such interviews. One of her podcast interviews on the popular “Call Her Daddy” failed to reach 1 million views.
Because of scheduling problems, she never interviewed Rogan at his studio in Austin. She did go to Houston, though, to a rally with Beyoncé in October.
Rogan said on his podcast that she had a chance to come. “You could say she’s being a diva, but she had a chance to come here when she was in Texas – and I invited her.”
Some of Harris’s staff were also worried about her appearing with Rogan.
John Morgan, a former Democratic donor, said last month that Barron’s podcast push helped defeat Harris on Election Day.
Trump’s campaign manager said that Trump is smarter than Harris’s team and that Trump refused to appear on Rogan’s podcast.
The tall teenager rarely appeared on the campaign trail with his father, but he is still popular with the president-elect’s supporters.
