The long-lived woman, who has reached her 114th birthday, claims the key to living a long life is eating everything. Elizabeth Francis, born in 1909 - the same year William Howard Taft became the 27th president of the United States - has made history as the oldest woman in Texas. Despite her advanced age, Frances remains as energetic as she was in her younger years. Mrs. Frances recently celebrated her milestone birthday with five generations of her family and a few close friends and said the secret to a long life is "eating everything." Elizabeth, who was just nine years old when the Spanish Flu pandemic hit the world in 1918, said she prefers to grow her fruits and vegetables and cook her own food at home rather than fast food. There are over ninety thousand people over the age of one hundred in the United States, which is more than double what it was even twenty years ago. In addition, people are living so much longer than ever before that there is a new category of people called "super veterans," that is, people who are 110 or more years old, and Elizabeth Francis is one of them. Even though Elizabeth Francis has lived through two world wars and more than twenty presidents, she is pleased that she has lived so long.
