They were introduced at a party in 2003 by Donald Trump Sr., who said, ‘Hi, I’m Donald Trump.   I wanted to introduce you to my son, Donald Trump Jr.’ According to an interview with Vanessa in The New York Times, they have come a long way since then. Donald Sr. introduced them, but later that night, he forgot and tried to introduce them again.

However, the couple ran into each other at another party weeks later and hit it off without Daddy Donald there to kill the vibe. Vanessa explained that she and Don Jr. only remembered each other despite their dramatic introduction mid-way into their conversation.   

Despite the initial awkward encounter, they started dating and fell in love.

Donald Trump Jr. proposed a year later in 2004, and the couple tied the knot in 2005 at Mar-a-Lago. They welcomed their first daughter, Kai Trump, in 2007 and their first son in 2009. Vanessa was pregnant with their third child, Tristan Trump, in 2011. During this time, Donald Jr. reportedly had an affair with Aubrey O’Day. Vanessa discovered Don Jr.’s infidelity through his phone, but they worked through the issue and had two more children. The following year, they had Spencer Trump, and two years later, in 2014, they had their last child, Chloe Trump.

Sources claim that their marriage was already in trouble by this time. Page Six reported that despite his wealth, Don Jr. was stingy with money and rarely home. Their marital issues continued into 2015 when Donald Trump Sr. started his presidential campaign. This likely worsened tensions, as Don Jr. spent time supporting his father on the road, and Vanessa’s family held liberal views.

Donald Trump’s presidency was the last straw for Don Jr. and Vanessa’s marriage.

One year after he started his presidency, Donald Trump Jr.’s family received a package containing an unknown white powder. Vanessa Trump, who opened it, was quickly rushed to the hospital to determine if she or her children were in danger. The following month, in March 2018, she filed for an uncontested divorce. The tag ‘uncontested’ indicated that Don Jr. agreed.

Page Six reported in May 2018 that Vanessa inherited millions shortly before filing for divorce. Speculation arose that this was why she finally dared to leave her soon-to-be ex. By July, their divorce became a contested issue until the end of 2018. The ex-couple officially announced the finalization of their divorce in February 2019. Donald Trump Jr. started dating Kimberly Guilfoyle soon after. Rumors circulated that Vanessa had a relationship with a Secret Service agent who had worked with her family.
