Matthew Labyorteaux played Albert Quinn Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie from 1976 to 1983. Many are still confused about Albert’s fate.
What Happened to Albert in ‘Little House on the Prairie’?
Charles and Caroline Ingalls adopted Albert. He came out of his shell and blossomed into a curious teen boy throughout the seasons. Albert faced difficulties and troubles, but his family was always there to help him. In the 1983 TV movie, Albert was diagnosed with cancer and came back to Walnut Grove, Minnesota, to live out his final days. Albert’s death was never confirmed. Still, it was hinted that he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor and continued his practice despite illness. Matthew didn’t return to play Albert in the 1984 TV film, leading many to think Albert died.
Where Is Matthew Labyorteaux Now?
Matthew shared his thoughts on what happened to Albert.
“He never died in the episode, but it was clear he was going to,” the California native said in a previous interview. He starred in Whiz Kids and made appearances in Night Court, Highway to Heaven, and Amazing Stories. Matthew has been doing much voiceover work in Star Wars and Yu-Gi-Oh! Recently. He thanks Little House on the Prairie for launching his career and helping him meet Melora Hardin.
Melora told Fine Magazine in November 2016 that she had a crush on Matthew Labyorteaux, now her best friend and the godfather of her youngest daughter, Piper.
