As reported by OwnGoalNigeria.com, it is anticipated that Samson Siasia, who recently returned from a period of ineligibility, will resume his role within the interim setup of the senior national team of Nigeria for the forthcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Following allegations of match-fixing, Siasia was prohibited from coaching for five years. His ban was completed six days ago, making him eligible to resume his role on the sidelines. Discussions are underway for his potential inclusion in the interim setup of the senior national team of Nigeria for the AFCON qualifiers as the NFF continues its search for a new substantive coach for the senior national team of Nigeria.

The technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Austin Eguavoen, will lead the team for both games, with Siasia among the coaches who will assist him in the new setup for just the two games. Senator John Enoh, the minister for sports, is advocating on behalf of Siasia and will be instrumental in approving the interim coaches for the games against Benin Republic and Rwanda on September 7th and 10th, respectively.
