An Australian wedding unexpectedly turned into a source of joyful memories when the groom had a funny incident during the photo shoot.
Molly and George Philip, both 29, were married on April 10th. After the ceremony, the couple went to take wedding photos with a photographer and a content creator. One romantic shot was supposed to be especially touching: George lifted his bride into his arms, and she looked down at him with a smile. But that’s when things went awry.
As Molly recalls, the groom’s expression suddenly changed—from tender to alarmed. It turned out he heard a distinctive sound and realized his pants had split. When he set his bride down and turned around, a large tear was visible, revealing blue underwear.
The bride humorously noted that this underwear became their “something blue”—a nod to wedding tradition. She says she didn’t immediately understand what had happened, but as soon as George quietly said, “My pants,” everything became clear.
George later posted a video of this moment on Instagram, and it quickly went viral, garnering millions of views. Viewers especially loved his sincere reaction—a mixture of shock and confusion.
Despite the awkward situation, Molly remembers it with a smile and considers it one of the highlights of the wedding. She says the photos clearly show how her emotions alternated between surprise and laughter.
George himself was more worried about the torn pants, not his appearance, than about missing their dance routine. He couldn’t change right away, so he had to wear the ruined pants for a while. Only later did a friend bring a spare pair.
Most guests didn’t even notice what had happened, and those who did found humor in the situation. The newlyweds themselves didn’t expect the incident to become so popular online.
“We never imagined millions would see it. And I certainly didn’t think George’s underwear would be the star of my wedding,” Molly jokes.
