Cats are renowned for their independent nature, but in this story, there’s a feathered rival who isn’t going down without a fight.

Parrots are considered among the most intelligent pet birds. Thanks to their ability to remember and reproduce human speech, many of them can surprise their owners with an impressive vocabulary. Although scientists believe that birds mostly repeat words they hear, parrot owners often believe their pets understand perfectly well what’s being said.

African grey parrots are particularly intelligent. Research shows that their intelligence rivals that of small children, and their ability to learn and imitate sounds is considered among the best in birds.

The hero of this video is precisely such a smart parrot. However, he uses his talents not for peaceful communication, but during yet another conflict with the house cat.

Apparently, the furry neighbor is not too happy when the feathered friend invades her personal space. The cat tries to ward off the annoying interlocutor and begins vigorously waving its paws.

The parrot, unable to respond in kind, chooses another weapon: its voice. In the midst of the squabble, it loudly says, “No! No!” several times, as if trying to put the cat in its place.

However, the stern reprimands fail to make the desired impact. The cat continues to show displeasure and occasionally slaps the bird with its paw.

Despite the noisy quarrel, the situation remains more amusing than dangerous. The cat doesn’t display any real aggression and doesn’t use its hunting instincts against its feathered neighbor.

Perhaps these unusual friends truly have a complex relationship. But sometimes the loudest domestic squabbles occur between those who have long been accustomed to each other and can’t imagine life without their unusual companion.
