For a long time, I told myself that coming home late was just a normal part of life for new parents. Our daughter, Sophie, was only three months old, and I assumed Elon was struggling to balance work and family. That evening, I called him again before dinner. "Will you be home soon?" I asked. "I don't know. And stop constantly checking up on me," he replied irritably. I quietly told him I loved him. Silence was the only response. Instead, I confirmed my return to work and met with a family lawyer to understand my rights. For our anniversary, I had initially planned a simple family dinner. But at the last minute, I invited both our families. When everyone had finished eating, I raised my glass of water. And I told them about that phone call. About Sierra. About what Elon had said. About his plans to divorce me. He tried to make excuses. He said that after Sophie was born, he had felt neglected. But I replied: "You could have talked to me about feeling lonely. Cheating was a choice you made yourself." After a few minutes of silence, Elon confessed: Sierra had entered his life long before that call. I took our prenuptial agreement out of my bag and placed it on the table. Not as a threat. But as a reminder to myself: even before I knew the truth, I had preserved at least some of my independence.
