Melania has been absent from several high-profile moments in her husband's life, including Donald's April 2023 hearing in Manhattan for arraignment on criminal charges. Insiders have claimed she was leading her life away from Donald's drama. During the 2024 presidential campaign trail, the former POTUS and Melania were photographed together in public for five months in November 2023. While Melania and Barron's private lifestyle may be a personal preference, some speculate that Melania is protecting Barron from becoming a political or legal target by fiercely guarding his privacy. Melania Trump may be trying to protect her son Barron from the consequences of his father's controversies by distancing him from Donald Trump and his ever-hovering media circus.
