Italian Serie A club Udinese has announced the immediate termination of Nigerian forward Isaac Success’s contract, as reported by OwnGoalNigeria.com.
Success, who still had a year remaining on his contract following the extension he signed last season, joined the team from the English Championship side Watford in 2021. However, injuries and poor form restricted his ability to perform at the requisite level.
During his tenure at the club, the 28-year-old played in 79 league matches, scoring four goals and providing 14 assists. The decision to allow his departure was made public yesterday.
“Udinese Calcio has announced that it has reached an agreement with the footballer Success Isaac for the consensual termination of his contract,” states the official club statement on its website.
“We would like to express our gratitude for his contributions during his tenure and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
According to his representative, the forward, who was a World Cup champion at the age of 17 with the Nigerian national team and has four senior caps, has already received offers from teams in the Gulf region and other European countries. He is expected to announce his next career move in ten days.
