Liam Payne showed off his new home in South Florida just a month before he died.
The One Direction star and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy had just moved into the $9,500-a-month Spanish-style rental mansion when he posted a joke on Snapchat to show his fans the property. Liam, who died on Wednesday at the age of 31, rented the $1.73 million home in Florida’s Wellington neighborhood, known as ‘Horse Town USA’ due to a plethora of equestrian sports.
Liam joked in the video, which his sister shared earlier today. He wore sunglasses and waved his arm as he mimicked Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: “Who lives in a house like this?” “Let’s go and find out.”
As he walked inside, Liam said, “Welcome to LJP Cribs. It was built during the First Revolution, with original stone walls. Since then, they knocked a few walls through, and the ceiling was vaulted twice.”
He showed off a recessed arch in the wall and a white and black iron staircase. “It had one of the world’s most important paintings in it, but it was stolen.”
In another part of the clip, Liam opens a small cupboard with household items in it and says, “This is where we hide people.” He then goes upstairs and walks through the hallway, saying, “I’m busy, so I need space to think.”
Liam opened a walk-in closet in one of the bedrooms filled with his girlfriend Kate’s shoes. “We hide people here too.” He went back down the hallway, ending the tour. I’ll go down the stairs and get on with my day. Thanks for watching LJP Cribs.
The couple moved into the house in September. It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a saltwater pool. Palm trees surround the property, and it is in a gated community. Liam died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
Police are investigating Liam’s death. Fans, celebrities, his bandmates, Simon Cowell, ex-girlfriend Cheryl, and friends and family of the 31-year-old singer have all expressed grief over his death.
