A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle “must have been incredibly envious and then jealous” of Kate Middleton.

Ingrid Stewart, editor of Majesty magazine, suggested to The Telegraph that the Duchess of Sussex, 42, may have been jealous of her husband Prince Harry’s close sibling relationship with Kate.

Unfortunately, that points to Meghan. Maybe Harry was a little bit in love with Kate,’ the royal writer said, before adding: ‘No, no, no – I don’t mean physically, but mentally. Remember when it was just the three of them? 

He had always longed for a sister, he told Diana. 

The royal author continued: ‘Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate. 

I heard that Meghan thought she would be a princess and live in Windsor Castle. Instead, there’s William and Kate with this beautiful house, while they’re stuck in Nottingham Cottage, which Harry used to call ‘my hovel.

While Ingrid isn’t writing off the possibility of a reconciliation, she does say that the physical and metaphorical distance makes it somewhat unlikely. 

In December, an insider told The Telegraph that Meghan “felt she had more of a right to speak” than Kate at certain events because she was a “self-made woman.” 

When she joined the royal family, the Duchess was reportedly uncomfortable with the Prince and Princess of Wales, senior royals in the palace hierarchy.

This was particularly the case during a Royal Foundation forum in February 2018, a source said, where it was claimed the tension between the ‘Fab Four’ was ‘palpable.’  

According to an insider, Meghan believed she was a self-made woman, while Kate did not have a career.

However, Omid Scobie’s book Finding Freedom claimed that Kate did not develop a ‘meaningful’ relationship with her sister-in-law Meghan.

Additionally, reports suggest that William and Kate gave Meghan a ‘lukewarm’ reception when her relationship with Prince Harry became serious.

Harry wrote about the first time he introduced Meghan to his brother in his book Spare. Kate was in the garden then, which was not the welcome they had hoped for. 

This news comes after Richard Eden of the Daily Mail reported that the Princess of Wales underwent successful planned abdominal surgery over three weeks ago and is now recovering. 

She has improved and can now join her husband, Prince William, and their three children on a half-term holiday at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where the King is also recovering.

According to a friend, ‘Catherine is recovering well’ and is looking forward to a change of scenery. She can relax in Norfolk while the children play with William.

The Princess was discharged from the London Clinic 12 days ago after spending almost two weeks there. 

According to a statement from Kensington Palace on January 17, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter based on current medical advice. 

Although the spokesman did not provide details about the nature of her surgery, sources have indicated that it was not for cancer.

Since leaving the hospital, Catherine has been residing at Adelaide Cottage, the family’s four-bedroom home at Windsor Home Park. 

Her children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5), attend Lambrook School, which is a 15-minute drive away in Berkshire. They went on a week-long half-term holiday on Friday.
