Francisca Owumi, a former participant in the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, has passed away following a brief illness.

The reality television personality, who was the runner-up in the inaugural edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) program in 2006, passed away on August 29, 2024.

Her family conveyed the news of her demise through a statement published on social media. The statement read, “She was a daughter and sister.” May her soul rest in peace.

During her tenure on the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, Francisca Owumi garnered a considerable following due to her charismatic personality and impressive dancing abilities.

She was a prominent figure in the inaugural season of the reality show, sharing the spotlight with fellow contestants, including Katung Aduwak, the eventual winner, Gideon Okeke, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Maureen Osuji, and others.

After participating in the program, Francisca made a brief foray into the Nigerian music industry, releasing singles such as “Diva” and “Gbadun You.”
